Day 4 Zuburi to Pamplona

Today’s walk was easier – Exmoor size hills! Much of the walk was through woods and forests following a river similar in size to the Barle. Lots of wildflowers including a glorious dark blue aquilegia that lined one of the woodland paths. Pamplona a delightful Spanish city with a modern and old cathedral with wonderful religious carvings and artwork. Met up with old and new friends for supper – eating outside on a balmy evening.

On my journey to Pamplona visited an old 13th-century church, Iglesia de San Esteban in Zabaldika, and after climbing the bell tower was allowed to ring the 13th-century bell – wonderful – a truly holy place.

Walked around 17 miles today and feeling okay. Tomorrow’s walk is around the same distance.
